Freddie Bryant – electric, nylon and 12-string guitars, Gregory Ryan-bass, Willard Dyson-drums and a Special/Surprise Guest!
Freddie Bryant’s KALEIDOSCOPE TRIO finds inspiration in rhythms from around the world. His past CDs have often featured Brazilian, Latin and African rhythms. This set of music from his CD Live Grooves...Epic Tales also draws from these traditions but adds a healthy taste of American roots with soulful Gospel grooves, Blues and funky New Orleans rhythms on his Telecaster as well as a driving Indian/Middle-Eastern tour-de-force played on his 12-string guitar. The show clearly defines Freddie’s interpretation of a musical kaleidoscope – each song is another colorful collage of rhythmic grooves and guitar timbres that will make you want to dance.
Freddie has performed in 50 countries—his "Kaleidoscope" concept has been about rhythms he has encountered on those journeys but now it also reflects the many timbres of his guitars as well. His electric, nylon and 12-string guitars are the focus melodically, harmonically as well as rhythmically. The group has an energy that is infectious. Although the influences seem disparate the music comes together to make a powerful and cohesive statement.
